Air Fryer French Toast is the absolute best way to make this breakfast staple! The Air Fryer makes french toast perfectly golden brown on the outside and soft and tasty on the inside! I will never make french toast another way.
I know that there’s an ongoing debate on what’s better, waffles or pancakes…but for me, I would pick the third option, french toast, every single time! Don’t get me wrong, I like the other two options too, but there is just something so comforting about french toast. It is so simple but so delicious.
What is the best bread for french toast?
I follow a pretty basic formula for my french toast recipe. Eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla. When it comes to the bread, I think brioche is the best. You could also use another thick bread like Texas Toast or Challah. Definitely don’t use plain old sandwich bread.
How to make french toast in the air fryer?
The process is pretty simple. While the bread is taking a quick soak, preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees. Once ready, add the bread. After 5 minutes, flip to cook the other side and cook for another 5 minutes. Some egg may stick to the air fryer pan, but that’s okay. You could grease the basket with butter beforehand to help prevent sticking. I cook four pieces at a time in my air fryer, but adjust according to how large your basket is.
There are a lot of great air fryers, but this Instant Pot Brand Air Fryer is definitely my favorite!
This classic french toast recipe is perfect for any time of the year but if you want some fall flavors, you could make my pumpkin french toast in the air fryer, as well! Follow the instructions in the recipe and just cook in the air fryer! Prefer an egg based breakfast? My Breakfast Enchiladas are perfect for weekend and holiday breakfasts.
