How to make baked french fries crispy?

I have a fool proof method to ensuring that your baked french fries are crispy! Here is my pro tip! Put the sheet pan in the oven while it preheats. When you add the potatoes, you will hear a sizzle which is the skin crisping up on the potato! The temperature for baked french fries is also very important. You need an extremely hot oven to mimic the frying method. I like to use at least 425, but 450 works as well if you are short on time!

What potatoes to use for healthy baked french fries?

I recommend using a starchy white potato, like a traditional Idaho potato for the best baked french fries. You can also make baked french fries with russet potatoes, which will give you great crispiness and texture. I love gold potatoes for mashed potatoes, but they tend to make for a soggy, limp fry!
